Just Ignore It is a film about racism.
We worked with young people for Youth Aspire Connect in Hull to create this animation based on their real life experiences of racism and racial prejudice. These are true stories that have effected everyone who took part.
The young people are part of an anti racist campaign group wanted to make something that gave a positive message, that empowered people to challenge racism and bought people together. They wanted to make a difference and the film is full of tips and advice on how to challenge racism both in the classroom and in the wider world.
We want teachers, schools, pupils and students to watch the film and make it apart of conversations about racism. The group has also written an Anti-Racism Policy for schools that we hope will be adopted across Hull, Yorkshire and beyond.
The film has featured as the lead story on BBC Look North, is being used by Hull University Teacher Training and has featured in Black History Month events across the city.
We hope that this film can bring people together, to encourage them to talk about race and to encourage them to challenge racism.
