'Just Ignore It', a film My Pockets made with young people from Youth Aspire Connect in Hull about Racism has won at the Into Film Awards. The Award was presented to us and the young people we made it with by the lovely Kingsley Ben-Adir at the Oden Leicester Square in the heart of London.
Youth Aspire Connect meet every two weeks to talk and find ways to stop racism. Our time with them has been really enlightening and moving. We are so proud of them. To see them go from a room in a community centre in Hull to the heart of London, clutching an award was something very powerful. They are brilliant.
On accepting the award Williams spoke for the group about the impact of racism and the things we all need to do to stop it. Watch the film to learn more about what you can do.
My Pockets are continuing to work with Youth Aspire Connect on films about mental health as well as with our My Pockets Music project.
